GNSS modules from CDTOP TECHNOLOGY

2021-06-30

CDTOP TECHNOLOGY company from Taiwan is the successor of the GLOBALTOP TECHNOLOGY company, widely recognized in the GNSS module industry, recently acquired by SIERRA WIRELESS.

As a result of a merger of both manufacturers a new company has come to life established by the former GLOBALTOP engineering team. Based on the rich experience of a parent manufacturer, CDTOP  offers up-to-date, high-performance and highly functional products.

CDTOP modules utilize MediaTek's new generation GNSS chipsets MT3333 and MT3339 supporting multiple navigation satellite systems including GPS/QZSS and optionally GLONASS/GALILEO as well as SBAS/A-GPS  auxiliary systems to increase position accuracy.

The modules have a built in patch antenna (PA = Patch antenna series) or support external active antenna only (SA= Standalone series)

They offer many advanced features including:

  • AlwaysLocate™ for power saving;
  • EASY™ and EPO™ for positioning and TTFF improvement;
  • Logger - to log the GPS data in an internal flash memory;
  • Antenna Advisor - for detections and notifications of different antenna statuses (PA1616D, PA1616S modules only)

A high sensitivity of -165dBm vastly improves performance in dense urban areas. The devices’ miniature size and low power consumption are ideal for small form factor portable applications such as smart watches. The modules operate from a supply voltage range of 3.0 to 4.3V and in the industrial temperature range.
