Hall effect sensors are magnetic field sensors using the Hall effect. In short, the given effect is based on the occurrence of a potential difference in a conductor located in the magnetic field. Contrary to the inductive sensors, they do not react with metals.

Photoelectric sensors detect and measure physical objects or quantities, by the field emission or the electromagnetic radiation beam. The object is detected by a measurement of the feedback signal changes.

The operating principle of an inductive sensor is based on detection of the magnetic field changes generated around the sensor surface, which occurs when a metal object appears in its range.
