Detailed description
Ultrasonic sensors work based on the radar principle by emitting an ultrasonic wave and receiving the reflected wave from an encountered object. By measuring the time between sending and receiving the pulse, the distance from the sensor to the object can be calculated. Thanks to their properties, they are used in harsh environmental conditions such as fog, steam, and dust. The material of the object does not play a role, which is an undeniable advantage compared to optical sensors.
Applications:
- Car alarms
- Parking sensors
- Liquid level measurements in tanks
- Distance measurement
