Detailed description

ADA-I9111 is a device used to convert the USB standard to RS-232 without altering the data format being transmitted. The ADA-I9111 converter utilizes data transmission lines Rx, Tx, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, RI, and the GND (ground) line for communication with another device equipped with the RS-232 interface. It does not require external power – it is powered via the USB port.
The converter supports asynchronous RS-232 data transmission with speeds up to 921600 kbps. It is a Plug & Play device, so it is automatically detected by the system once connected to the USB bus. Using a cable with a USB type A connector allows direct connection to a computer. On the RS-232 side, the converter has a DSUB-9M connector. Along with the ADA-I9111 converter, we provide drivers that, once installed, create an additional COM port in the system (Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 7, 8). This COM port, with the next available number, e.g., COM3, behaves as a standard COM port. However, it is not an actual physical port in the computer but a virtual one created by the system, so some programs running under DOS and addressing this COM port may not function correctly.
The advantage of the virtual port is the significantly higher data transmission speed compared to standard COM ports, up to 921,600 kbps.
