The MP00102 converter is based on the FT232RL controller by FTDI. It allows data transfer at speeds of up to 230kB/s. Thanks to drivers that emulate a serial port, the converter is ideally suited for applications that previously used RS232 serial communication.

The included drivers allow users to write their own communication procedures in the same way as for devices transmitting data via the RS232 interface. Standard terminal programs, such as the windowed HiperTerminal, can also be used for computer-side communication. More advanced programmers can utilize the included D2XX drivers (USB Direct Drivers + DLL S/W Interface). A major advantage of the module is the ability to almost freely select transmission speeds, as long as they are the same on both the sender and receiver sides.

The device is fully user-compatible with the original UC232R "ChiPi" converter from FTDI.

Additionally, for advanced programmers, direct USB drivers with DLL S/W interface (D2XX drivers) are provided.

The MP00102 converter contains EEPROM memory where parameters such as USB VID, PID, serial number, product description, etc., can be stored. This memory can be programmed directly by the user via USB using the Mprog software.

Upon purchase, the EEPROM memory is pre-programmed and does not require modification for proper module operation.
