The interface is based on the modern and very popular EM4095 chip by EM MICROELECTRONIC - MARIN S.A. There are many circuit solutions for RFID readers using this type of interface, with a large number of these solutions available for free (for non-commercial use) on the internet.

The EM4095 chip allows not only reading of Read Only transponders but also writing to special Read & Write transponders.

The device uses an integrated antenna on the PCB that enables reading transponders from a distance of 12 cm in the case of ISO cards and Clamshell. Additionally, the PCB includes a universal board area that can be used for adding a microprocessor circuit working with the interface.

In the simplest applications, when reading Read Only transponders, the interface communicates with the microcontroller using a 2-wire interface, where the MOD line serves for synchronization and the DEMOD_OUT line is the signal output after detection.

Note: The latest version of the Bascom AVR development environment supports the interface chip using a few simple commands.
