Kapton Tape
Kapton tape with anti-corrosive silicone adhesive (the adhesive leaves no residue after removal) can withstand very high temperatures, up to 268°C. It is available in tape form with widths ranging from a few millimeters to 500 mm or in die-cut shapes from sheets. Kapton tapes feature high dielectric resistance up to 6000V, are coated with silicone adhesive that leaves no residue, and are resistant to chemicals, corrosion, moisture, UV, and aging. The tape is also available in an ESD anti-static version, with excellent electro-insulating properties and flame resistance class H (flame retardant).
Characteristics of Self-Adhesive Kapton Tapes
Kapton tapes have a silicone adhesive that is resistant to corrosive factors, chemicals, and high temperatures, and leaves no residue after tape removal. Kapton tape effectively protects electronic circuits and their components from overheating or damage during soldering.
Kapton tapes are also used in 3D printing with ABS, PLA, HIPS, PET, TPE filaments. They serve as protection for the work surface from damage, as well as thermal insulation. Available in any width, in rolls of 33m.
Applications of Kapton Tapes (Leaves No Residue)
- Production and repair of coils and transformers
- 3D printing - used as masking and protective tape
- Protection from overheating of electronic circuits, connectors, ICs, sockets
- Protection during wave soldering
- Used during repair work in computer and GSM services
- Used for masking connectors on printed circuit boards
