ADM2483BRWZ is an isolated transceiver for RS-485 applications, built using the modern iCoupler® technology by Analog Devices. The internal structure of the device includes a 3-state line driver, a differential receiver, and a 3-channel galvanic separator. The rise time on the output is limited to minimize electromagnetic interference and errors caused by signal reflections due to improper line matching. The device features thermal protection, overcurrent protection, and a fail-safe mechanism, ensuring a high output voltage in case of a short circuit or open inputs. The device meets international safety and isolation standards UL, CSA, and VDE. Up to 256 devices can be connected to a common communication bus.
