L5973D013TR is a high-efficiency DC-DC step-down converter (buck converter) that delivers a maximum output current of up to 2.5A. It operates over a wide input voltage range from 4V to 36V, making it a versatile solution for industrial, automotive, and battery-powered systems. The adjustable output voltage range from 1.235V to 35V allows it to meet diverse design requirements.
The L5973D013TR uses an internal P-channel D-MOS transistor with low resistance, minimizing energy losses and improving the converter's efficiency. The built-in oscillator operates at a switching frequency of 250kHz, enabling the use of smaller external components, such as inductors and capacitors, saving space on the PCB.
The L5973D013TR also offers advanced protection features, including current limitation, thermal protection, and feedback disconnection protection. The inhibit function allows the converter to be turned off, reducing current consumption to nearly zero. Additionally, the device supports a zero-load operation mode, making it ideal for energy-efficient systems.
The HSOP8 package with an exposed thermal pad ensures effective heat dissipation, enabling reliable operation even under heavy loads.
