Detailed description

LM3914N-1 is an energy-efficient driver IC that enables LED control based on an input analog signal. The chip converts the analog signal into a graphical display, allowing easy visualization of the voltage signal level in the form of a light bar. With simple configuration and the ability to drive up to 10 LEDs, the LM3914N-1 is an ideal choice for monitoring and control systems such as battery level indicators, sound level meters, and various other displays.

With a wide operating voltage range of 3V to 20V, the LM3914N-1 can be used in many different applications, from battery-powered systems to projects requiring higher operating voltages. In standby mode, when all LEDs are off, the current consumption is only 1.6mA (maximum 2.5mA). The chip allows for current regulation of the LEDs, enabling precise adjustment of the LED brightness without the need for additional resistors. Additionally, the built-in overload protection ensures reliability under demanding operating conditions.

The chip is available in an 18-pin DIP package, making it easy to mount on printed circuit boards. Thanks to its cascading capability, the LM3914N-1 can drive up to 100 LEDs.
