The TSC2046IPW integrated controller, enclosed in a 16-pin TSSOP package, is a 4-wire resistive touchscreen controller. The design of the chip is based on a 12-bit SAR-type A/D converter and input circuits designed to work with the touchscreen. The controller features a touch detection sensor with an external interrupt pin signaling a touch event. Additional features of the controller include an internal 2.5V reference voltage source, a temperature sensor, and a battery voltage measurement circuit. The controller can also measure the pressure applied to the touchscreen. The chip also includes one universal external A/D converter input. Communication with the master system is achieved through a 3-wire synchronous serial interface compatible with SPI and QSPI standards.
The TSC2046 is a pin-compatible successor to the ADS7846 chip. It can be used in various devices that utilize resistive touch panels, such as mobile phones, portable terminals, pagers, payment terminals, GPS devices, etc.
