The INA126 is part of a high-performance family of instrumentation amplifiers designed for extracting and amplifying weak, noisy signals from sensors and transducers. The basic element of the instrumentation amplifier is a differential amplifier used to amplify the useful differential signal while rejecting the harmful common-mode signal. The design of the system consists of two operational amplifiers and an internal network of resistors within a closed-loop feedback system. The gain is set using a single external resistor. Thanks to the use of laser trimming in the input circuitry, excellent parameters are achieved, such as low input offset voltage, minimal temperature drift of offset voltage, and high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR).
