DC/DC vs AC/DC converters – what is the difference?

The second task, i.e. adjusting the level of direct voltage, is usually carried out using DC/DC converters, also referred to as DC/DC converters.

Although the two types of devices mentioned above are used most frequently, sometimes it is necessary to use another type of these components. This is the case, for example, when we want to convert direct current into alternating current – e.g. to power a device (operating at 230V) from a car battery. For this purpose, a DC/AC converter (230V) must be used.

A different type of device must be used when we want to convert alternating voltage into alternating voltage (e.g. to stabilize its parameters). In such a case, an AC/AC converter is used.

When selecting a converter for a specific device, attention should be paid not only to its type, but also to certain parameters. Important factors include:
